Can I install the mantel or shelf myself?

All our mantels and shelves are designed with easy installation in mind.
The average homeowner has the skill level and tools needed. You can view our installation guides here.

Do you use solid wood?

We hand craft our mantels from 1" thick solid rough cut saw kerf pine. Our mantels are constructed in the form of a box and when finished looks like it is one solid beam. Their light weight makes installation a breeze.

Do you make custom sizes?

Absolutely! Every mantel and shelf is made to order, so you can customize the length, height, and depth to fit your space perfectly. We’re happy to help with measurements or design adjustments. Please contact us if you’d like a custom size or layout.

How much weight can the mantels and shelves support?

Our mantels can hold up to 80lbs when secured to wall studs.

Our 3" floating shelves have two bracket options. The standard bracket supports 15lbs per stud it is attached to. The Heavy Duty bracket supports 65lbs per stud.

Our 1.5" floating shelves can support 10lbs per stud.

How high should I install my mantel?

The standard mantel height is about 54 inches from the floor to the top of the shelf—a good starting point for most homes with 8-foot ceilings. Always follow fire safety codes, leaving at least 12 inches of clearance above wood-burning fireplaces (check your gas fireplace manual for specifics). Adjust based on ceiling height, hearth size, and room proportions.

A great pro tip is to mock it up with painter’s tape and trust your eye.
